continuation of the dream

This pendant has appeared in my dream. Waking up in the morning, there was a feeling that the big part of me is still at the mercy of the sleep, and that part of the dream demanded its manifestation. Probably many of you know this feeling, to be driving by your dream.

The whole morning I couldn't concentrate on anything. Finally, like in the dream, I have choose colors of beads, took the wire, crochet and started crocheting.
I lost the sense of the time and I completely waked up only after the pendand was ready, lying in front of me on the table.

There couldn't be another name for my creation - I called it "The dream".  

 

Donate for Japan

After watching the painful coverage of the earthquakes in Japan and ongoing news on what is going on there, I decided to donate to the Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

In addition to my personal donation, I made flash drive /mobile phone charms and listed them in my Etsy shop.

All profits from selling this items go to Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

It may not be much, but it’s something I can do.

Snake Skin Beadwoven Cuff

I woven this snake skin bracelet in peyote stitch with tread and hundreds of tiny beads in black white and light brown strung and stitching one bead at a time.
It’s finished off with bead woven loop and a toggle.

The serpent is one of the oldest and most widespread mythological symbols.
In some instances, serpents serve as positive symbols, in others, serpents serve as negative symbols.

As for me, I more connected with the positive symbolism of the snake, especially - wisdom and knowledge.

The following are some of the particular symbolic values to snake:

- Serpents are connected with deceit, and are used to symbolize deceitfulness. An example is the serpent in the Garden of Eden, who tricks Adam and Eve into partaking of the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

- Serpents are represented as potent guardians of temples and other sacred spaces

- Serpents are connected with poison and medicine. Three medical symbols involving snakes that are still used today are Bowl of Hygieia, symbolizing pharmacy, and the Caduceus and Rod of Asclepius, which are symbols denoting medicine in general

- Snakes are a chthonic symbol, roughly translated as 'earthbound'

- The snake is one of the 12 celestial animals of Chinese Zodiac,

- India is often called the land of snakes and is steeped in tradition regarding snakes.

In India there is another mythology about snakes. Commonly known in Hindi as "Ichchhadhari" snakes. Such snakes can take the form of any living creature, but prefer human form. These mythical snakes possess a valuable gem called "Mani", which is more brilliant than diamond.
There are many stories in India about greedy people trying to possess this gem and ending up getting killed.

The Ouroboros is a symbol associated with many different religions and customs, and is claimed to be related to Alchemy. The Ouroboros or Oroboros is a snake eating its own tail in a clock-wise direction (from the head to the tail) in the shape of a circle, representing manifestation of one's own life and rebirth, leading to immortality.
