continuation of the dream

This pendant has appeared in my dream. Waking up in the morning, there was a feeling that the big part of me is still at the mercy of the sleep, and that part of the dream demanded its manifestation. Probably many of you know this feeling, to be driving by your dream.

The whole morning I couldn't concentrate on anything. Finally, like in the dream, I have choose colors of beads, took the wire, crochet and started crocheting.
I lost the sense of the time and I completely waked up only after the pendand was ready, lying in front of me on the table.

There couldn't be another name for my creation - I called it "The dream".

Summer time excitement

I’m so excited today!!!

In the morning, I found out that pair of my earrings - was featured in lovely collection “Back to School” by ZhivanaDesigns on the first page of ETSY site.

It is a very nice way to start the day :)

Later, I was so amused when I saw my shop included in daily “ETSY Finds” newsletter (Beach Jewelry section ) and I felt very proud of myself.

By the end of the day, wow, the same item (beaded crochet strand ) that was featured in the newsletter - now is shown on the first page – in “Mustard” collection by vintageprecious.

May be for people who are not on ETSY it sounds kind weird, but for me it means a lot.

Love,
Maria

P.S.
I’m already working on photo gallery with photos of Beach Jewelry that I’m going to share very soon :) Pin It

Sea Pearl. The birth of a new is always a mystery.

It began from the moment my friend asked me to make her a ring. Her name is Alla, she has beautiful red hear, eyes full of passion.

Alla lives in the oldest city in Israel – Yaffa. Walls of her home were built many centuries ago and from the window there is a view to endless sea. This place is full of greatness and mystery.
The breath of the see and the whisper of the waves call you to go to the journey, towards something new and unknown. They call and fill you with determination, no matter what, to discover the Secret.

Standing on her balcony in the old city I could clearly see the pictures from my favorite movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". I like this movie very much, don't you? In this movie the life of main characters is full of adventures. Love, Loyalty, Faith and Courage all help to make a decision in difficult moment.

Something that gives courage to win a battle against the enemy, which seemed invincible, and in moments of despair helps to find strength to believe in your self and keep on going.

All that I felt, in the glamorous and passionate world of my friend, all that were clear signs of birth of a new.

Then, I began to see more often posters, telling about a new chapter of this great movie. In addition "as if by chance" I've got "Pirates' Cards", and this is another story, I'll just tell that the author of these cards is a searching, talented painter, bold and brave, but at the same time keeping common sense.

Life is a Great Mystery, which gives us presents every day. We should learn to see them and to except them with gratitude. This way, from small unconnected details of our reality, this ring was born.

I am proud to present – Sea Pearl – filled with breath of Life, warmth of Love and lust for adventures.

How do I buy on Etsy and do get discounts!

Yesterday, I got a message from one of my customers, who made an order but is wondering how she can get a promised 20% off as fan of my shop fan page. Well, I told her that she needs to use provided coupon code during check out to receive relevant discount.

I was so surprised that, yes it is very easy to miss the part when the coupon code could be used.

Thus, I decided to create a short manual for Etsy buyers. It is not a complete guide and probably does not cover all situations but I just want customers enjoy the discounts easily.

Let’s say you liked some item in the shop and you want to buy it.

Great! Just press [Add to Cart] button

Step 1

Now you need to choose the payment method (if there are several options) and click on  [Proceed to Checkout] if you want to finish the purchase or click on [Keep Shopping] on the right to continue shopping.

Step 2

Let's say you proceeded to checkout, now it depends on payment method. In my case the customer choose the "other method" of payment so she needed to enter the shipping address.

Step 3 (in case of "other" type of payment)

Now it is time to use the coupon, on the right click on Apply shop coupon code:

Step 4

After you applied the coupon code you will see the discount value:

Step 5
Now, you can submit your order

Step 6

Dear customer, enjoy your discounts and I hope this manual makes it much easier.

Yours,

A few words about RusTeam on Etsy

Etsy - it’s not only on-line marketplace, it is the whole world with its own unique life.

In this big cyber world there are a lot of communities, that are called teams, where people are getting together to help and support each other.

I would like to tell about one team, that I’m a proud member of it, with very special atmosphere – the RusTeam.

First of all, RusTeam is an international team, its members are from all around the world, but all are speaking Russian (it’s explains the team name). RusTeam reminds the big family.

The lightness, humor, honesty and the ability to discuss what is happening, not only on Etsy, but also in the personal life of each other, makes this team unique. There are of course, and disagreements and disputes, but mostly it's “warm and cozy”.

From time to time, we team members suggest to have some “team activity” and the ideas are very creative.

I want to tell you about one of such “team activities” we had in the middle of the last spring.

The idea was simple – to share our handicrafts between team members. I enjoyed it very much.

So..

Tanya - Sock and Mittens

When you open a page of her store, you seem to get into the world that surrounds you with care and warmth. Knitted things, personally, remind me of my grandmother, a wise, loving and kind.

Despite the fact that I live in Israel, in a very warm climate, during the winter, especially in unheated apartments it is actually, very cold. So I chose a pair of warm socks. Should tell you that the socks were not just warm, they were so soft and fragrant, and radiated love. I remember that when I received it I have some time just hugging them as a teddy bear.

My part was to make a pair of Chocolate earrings, and it was  amused seeing them on Tanya's photo model.

Galya  - GalaFilc

Galina is very responsive person and it is very easy to communicate with her. In her works she reveals the beauty of simplicity, she is master of felting.

I like my long hair so I really wanted this felted barrette – “cherry blossoms” and Galya liked the bead woven hoop earrings.

Nadia - Mama Tita

Nadia is very talented! Excising of paper she creates vivid images. You can easily be convinced in that just by looking into her shop. For some time, I was watching for her cards – “Made with Love”.

So I got the cards and it was a pleasure for me to make a beaded beads necklace and pair of wonderful earrings  for Nadia.

Actually, I would like to tell more about Nadia’s cards, but it would be a different post.

Love,

Visiting Caesarea

This happened during Passover. The kids were visiting grandparents, so I and my husband could have some time to spend together.

The day was amazing – not too hot and not too cold, clouds and sun, rain that lasts for 3-5 minutes and disappears. I knew that there would be a great play of lights and shadows on the sea shore so we decided to visit Caesarea – the ancient port city.

Caesarea is a historical place, but I don’t know much about it. I know that it was one of the largest harbors in the Roman world and later it was a strategic place from the Crusaders.

Now days it is a popular tourist place with antique shops and restaurants overlooking the sea shore but you can still feel the power and the beauty of the ancient times.

As usual, when we travel, I try also to take pictures of the items I made. I just like a natural lighting.
This ring I named - "Sea Side" so there were no doubts where to take photos of it.

The atmosphere is so calming, so I enjoyed sitting on the bench and just watching play of lights on the horizon, where sky and the sea meet each other.

Before the sunset I wanted to take additional shots of my other item - the 7 gold lucky ring chocker.

And there is the sunset - I was amazed by the form of clouds - it was just like a giant bird spread its wings above the setting down sun.

A couple of minutes after the sunset.

In a moment the show is over, time to head home.

Donate for Japan

After watching the painful coverage of the earthquakes in Japan and ongoing news on what is going on there, I decided to donate to the Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

In addition to my personal donation, I made flash drive /mobile phone charms and listed them in my Etsy shop.

All profits from selling this items go to Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

It may not be much, but it’s something I can do.
